Kan Samer nazel ʿas-sooʾ la-yishtiri shwayyet aghrad lil-beit. W howwe mashi, shaf saḥbo Rami wāʾef ʾoddam maḥal el-khodra.
Samer was heading down to the market to buy some things for the house. While he was walking, he saw his friend Rami standing in front of the vegetable shop.

أهلين رامي! شو عم تعمل هون؟
Ahleen Rami! Sho ʿam teʿmel hon?
Hey Rami! What are you doing here?

أهلين! جاي أشتري خضرة وفواكه. وإنت؟
